Benefits of Rock Mineral Wool Insulation

There are several benefits of Rock Mineral Wool Insulation.

Also known as stone wool, Rock Mineral Wool is a versatile form of insulation that can be used for various applications. Commonly known as Mineral Wool insulation, there are two types – Rock and Glass.

Manufactured from different materials – Rock & Glass, they both have different performance abilities. So while you can use them interchangeably in some applications, there are others where one will perform better.

Both types of Mineral Wool will achieve excellent Thermal insulation Properties for any commercial, domestic or industrial properties, preventing a building from losing or gaining heat through its walls and roof. Therefore less energy is needed to heat or cool the building, so energy bills are lower. Result!

Super Strong 


Because of its compound properties, Rock Mineral Wool has slightly shorter fibre strands compared to Glass Mineral Wool. These shorter strands give Rock Mineral Wool a superior compressive strength. It is ideal for flat roofing applications if people walk on whilst it is being applied or maintained.

Fire Safety Assured

Mineral Wool is far superior to any other form of insulation material.  Rock and Glass Mineral Wool achieve the best possible Euroclass Reaction to Fire Classification of A1 (non-combustible) or A2 (limited combustibility).

Rock Mineral Wool has a melting temperature of +1,000ºC and minimises the transfer of heat. So if you’re looking for insulation where fire resistance is paramount – this is the insulation for the job.

Acoustic Insulation

Rock and Glass Mineral Wool insulation have excellent acoustics properties compared to other insulation types, such as rigid foam boards. This is due to the fact it has an open fibre compound that absorbs noise. 

Rock Mineral Wool insulation also has a superior acoustic performance and can be used in roofs, walls or floors to provide soundproofing and create quieter buildings.

Easy to install

These rigid slabs are super easy to install. These slabs are available in various sizes or can even be cut to size if required with a saw. They are robust in that they can adapt to imperfections in the substrate and be knitted tightly together, minimising gaps for maximum thermal, fire safety and acoustic performance.
