What type of insulated Plasterboard do I use?
Each building project requires different insulated plasterboard types, and at Thermal Insulation Online, we can provide you with a broad range of plasterboard products to meet your needs.
Plasterboard is most commonly used on internal walls, partitioning and ceilings and finished with plaster or paint. It has an inner layer of gypsum sandwiched between two outer layers of lining paper. The varying weight of the lining paper and the additives in the gypsum layer gives the finished board different properties.
Some of the Insulated Plasterboards we supply are:-
Fireline Plasterboard
These are used extensively for fire protection. The gypsum is made up of crystals containing a small amount of water. In a fire, this water is driven off, which helps to keep the temperature down and prevent fire from rapidly spreading. Fireline plasterboard is suitable for drylining internal surfaces.
Moisture Resistant Plasterboard
These are specially designed with silicone additives in the core and are ideal for environments such as kitchens, bathrooms and wet rooms, as standard plasterboard is not moisture resistant.
Eco Liner Plasterboard
This is fibre-free insulated plasterboard that improves the thermal efficiency of internal walls without impacting the interior space. Eco liner plasterboard is ideal for solid walls, cavity walls, line timber frame walls, and upgrading thermal performance on existing buildings.
Square Edge Plasterboard
This is your standard gypsum plasterboard and is most commonly used for plastering.
They all come in a variety of thicknesses.
